Volunteers are crucial for student success at Oakwood Academy. Parents are encouraged to volunteer a minimum of ten hours for the year. However, most go far beyond the minimum.
Volunteer time can take many shapes, such as attending PTO meetings, assisting in the classroom, shopping, baking or helping prepare classroom materials.
Below is a list of specific volunteer opportunities we currently need:
- Copying for classroom teachers
- Library Assistance such as:
*Shelving books
*Assisting children with checking out books
*Labeling books
*Scanning books
*Computer entries
(Traing provided for all the above)
- Lunch area assistance
- PTO Projects such as:
*Boohoo Breakfast (August)
*Fall Festival (October)
*FCAT Celebration (March)
*Spring Fling (April)
*Teacher Appreciation Week (April)
- Club Activity Assistance
- In-school Activities such as:
*Field Day
*FCAT Breakfast
*Classroom assistance
